Caller Display
=> Please advise what the customer is seeing, they should see one of 2 things:
a) The incoming CLI, followed by `unavailable`.
b) The incoming CLI, followed by `calling`.
=> Obviously there may be something different if there is a fault. Please confirm the following:
1. what the customer is seeing on their display.
2.The number ringing is not withholding their number.
3.The caller display service is live.
4. Are all incoming calls failing to display, or specific types of calls (i.e. mobile calls,international calls, landline calls, etc)?
5. What is the make and model of the equipment that is failing to display the incoming CLI?
6. Example calls including time/date, and incoming CLI.
=> Check facility is switched on by entering * # 234 #
=> If its active you will get the message ‘Caller identity’ displayed on the unit.
=> If its not active then activate it by dialling * 234 #.
=> There are no codes to switch caller display on/off.
=> Replace the telephone batteries, as they could be flat.
=> Remove telephone from socket, remove batteries from telephone and leave out for 15 seconds and then replace.
=> If it is a cordless caller display telephone, switch the power off to the base station for 15 seconds, switch power back on. The next incoming call will reactivate the Caller
Display service.
=> Try the Caller Display phone/unit on its own in the Main Socket by disconnecting all other equipment such as extension leads, Sky Digital adapters and computers.
=> Check that the Caller Display unit is not beside a cordless telephone.
=> Check equipment supports Caller Display, as not all telephones with a LCD Display are compatible. You will need to check the phone user guide or check with your supplier.
